MVO: It must have been the hottest day of the year when we decided to travel through the desert. As we climbed out of the cooled cabin, I could feel the sweat beading down my forehead. I took two steps and there it was; surrounded by a sea of deep beige, no bigger than a bottle cap - a small purple flower, completely untouched. I took a closer look and noticed that towards the centre, the petals were no longer purple, but a light, slight maroon. Like everything else in the desert, it would soon wither up and die, but that day, I froze its beauty in time.
