Brief Explanation

The key objectives of this project were to encourage donations by giving people a piece of art which they could take home and frame. Our main objective with the Build poster was to create a youthful, brightly designed artwork which carried a positive message rather than focusing on the negative situation which resulted in the loss of the community center.

The Brief

In 2009, a youth centre in Gaza was bombed to the ground. This spurred Break Dj Lobito to host a fundraiser at thejamjar to raise awareness and funds to help contribute to the rebuilding of the Palestinian Art Center. We were asked to take part in the event and contribute a poster which was sold at the event, with all proceeds going to the cause.

How the final design was conceived

The charitable initiative behind the poster was based on the premise of building: from the structure itself to the community around it, along with the education of the youth. The idea was twofold: let people know what is happening while also providing them with an artistic object for them to own that would help them actively sponsor the rebuilding of the community centre.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

Ultimately, the community centre was completed with the assistance of our agency's poster and numerous other artistic contributions. The Build initiative was a success.
