Brief Explanation
Desktop calendars tend to become blind spots over time. With Social Media on Mobile Phones growing in popularity, we saw an opportunity to connect with our audience in an engaging manner using this traditional inanimate object.
The Brief
Design the annual desktop calendar into a memorable communication piece while showcasing Wataniya Telecom as a brand that is synonymous with enjoyable surprises.
How the final design was conceived
What if, iconic personalities of yesteryear had today’s social tools? We linked a social channel around their persona, which naturally lend to quirky executions. Facebook and Instagram links were introduced to prompt participation and carry on the fun and engagement every month. At the beginning of each month, a new artwork is posted on Wataniya's Facebook and Instagram page. Thereby ensuring the audience will keep returning to our social channels to post new comments and share it with their followers. An extra push was given in the form of prizes, so that visitors get rewarded for their creative comments.

Thousands of calls requesting calendars.
Most popular bloggers in Kuwait mentioned the calendar on Instagram, Twitter and some on their blogs.
Wataniya Facebook and Instagram pages are receiving a lot of related comments day by day.
Wataniya Facebook and Instagram fan base increased substantially and the engagement tripled for this activity.
People continue to visit the pages not only to comment, by also follow the trail of hilarious messages being posted; thereby ensuring constant traffic.
