Brief Explanation
Photography had to be carefully chosen, we did not want clichéd shots. There had to be a story behind every picture.
To showcase key projects, some of which were still at the planning stage.
To show Qatari Diar not just as an Investment and Construction Company but a company invested in people’s lives.
The book had to accommodate bilingual text yet remain visually driven.
The Brief
To commemorate Qatari Diar’s 7th Anniversary, we were asked to produce a coffee table book, targeted at investors and high net worth individuals, to showcase the company’s projects throughout the world. The book had to portray ‘heart and soul’.
How the final design was conceived
The concept is loosely based on a travel journal. Intimate vignettes were chosen to give a flavour of each country. Individual stories are told through short copy and unique photography. Original watercolours were commissioned to illustrate projects as many are still to be built. Fabriano uncoated stock was used to mimic an artist’s canvas for the watercolour images and pen and ink.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The outgoing marketing manager commented that it was the finest piece of print Qatari Diar had ever produced.
