Brief Explanation
Our main objective was to showcase the Katara Hospitality brand. We wanted the look and feel of the book to reflect the company’s positioning as an international luxury brand. We were also keen to do justice to the hotels that Katara Hospitality owns and manages across Qatar, Europe, Africa and Asia. It was extremely important to us that the book would be a true representation of the new brand.
The Brief
As part of our rebrand of Katara Hospitality (formerly Qatar National Hotels Company), the client asked us to translate the Katara Hospitality experience into print. The brief was to create a limited edition coffee table book that would bring the Katara Hospitality brand to life.
How the final design was conceived
Taking inspiration from the Katara Hospitality Brand and keen to communicate the luxury and quality of the company’s hotels, we gave the book a white leather colour. Qatar is extremely important to the identity of Katara Hospitality so we borrowed from the culture and heritage of the Middle East and its aesthetic. We took much of our inspiration from the luxurious settings, textures and aesthetic of many of Katara Hospitality’s holdings.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The initial print run for this high-end luxury edition was 60 but high demand necessitated an additional order of 100 further books in December 2012.
