Brief Explanation

In order to get people from the area to come to the Chickpeas vintage pop-up shop, we needed to firstly remind them about the wonderful old-fashioned charm of vintage clothing and accessories.

The Brief

Vintage clothing retailer, Chickpeas carries out a large part of its business in vintage pop-up shops that appear across various art-inspired venues throughout Dubai. By the 20th of January, our task was to tell people that the Chickpeas’ vintage pop-up shop would soon be coming to their very own neighbourhood.

How the final design was conceived

To transport our audience back to the nostalgic appeal of vintage, we decided to approach the homes of our target audience and drop off a bag with a beautiful vintage travel case printed on it. The bag would be designed with an elegant vintage look and feel. It would be something they could take to the next pop-up shop coming to their neighbourhood, and carry in it items of a bygone era.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

After realizing that the Chickpeas vintage pop-up-shop would be coming to the area, residents flocked to the event that took place on 27th Jan, 2012. With over 80 visitors turning up for the one-day event, attendance more than doubled since the previous vintage market in May. To the delight of Chickpeas, the sales figures increased by 40%, significantly surpassing the event investment, and placing the brand comfortably into the profit zone.
