The Brief
6
Describe the creative solution to the brief/objective.
The theme of the calendar was “365 Lines of Change”, based on the idea that each day of the year one can change one’s destiny.
To express the concept visually, the ancient art of Mehndi was used - the painting of the hands with henna – which drew on rich cultural customs.
The partner companies showcase their talents, resulting in a textured product. It displays a strong concept, vibrant colours, thought-provoking copy, eye-catching photography and detailed design.
Numerous printing techniques such as embossing / debossing, foiling, die-cutting, varnishing, metallic inking and scented pads bring the calendar to life.
Results
The A2 calendar, presented in a large card envelope, is an attention-grabbing piece of graphic art and is achieving its objective. The partner companies have been contacted by a number of people - including prospective clients - that have been impressed with the concept and design of the calendar, resulting in briefs.
Marketers and branding people who would otherwise not have known of the three partners now have a tangible expression of some great work hanging on their walls – and this makes the business development process for the partner companies easier when they are prospecting for new work.
